JAI56 - Sketch Challenge

Hello blog visitors :) I hope that you have all had a great week! I have been crazy busy with work this week, and hubby finally got home yesterday after a month away so there has not been much time for me to create and play this week.

One thing I did make though, was a layout for this week's sketch challenge over at Just Add Ink. I thought instead of a card I would do something different, yet still kept my page VERY simple.

If you would like to play along, here is the sketch. You will notice that I flipped it to the right for my project this week :)
And here is my layout. Supplies:
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Crumb Cake. Perfect Plum & Old Olive DSP
Stamps: Growing Green
Ink: Crumb Cake
Other: Martha Stewart border punch, Prima Flowers, Old Olive ribbon, Making Memories alphabet stickers, sewing, Stampin' Up! pastels.

And if you would like to see what the DT members have come up with be sure to pop over to JAI and check out this week's projects, I am sure you will be impressed!

JAI55 - Just Add Love!

With Valentines Day only a few sleeps away, it's the perfect time for a challenge all about Love, don't you think? And that's what the girls at Just Add Ink have in store for you this week so be sure to head on over and see what the rest of the design team have come up with.

And here is my entry for this week. I started with the card and kept it very 'no frills' since my hubby doesn't like real girly cards as he calls them! lol There is a little bit of sparkle though, on the red 'Love You'. After stamping I just went over it in Versamark, sprinkled it with a mix of Heat & Stick powder and dazzling diamonds and then set it with my trusty heat tool.

Then I thought that maybe the card was a bit 'plain' so I made a little matching gift box using a template by Lauren Meader which I will fill with chocolates. I also tried to keep that looking as un-girly as I could as well ;)
Supplies:
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red and Naturals Ivory
Stamps: Papertrey Ink, and Valentines sentiment by SU!
Ink: Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red
Other: Early espresso satin ribbon, PTI die, buttons, string, dazzling diamonds

Another birthday card

There are 7 birthdays in the family in February so it seems like that is all I've been making recently! And here is another one. This is for my neices birthday coming up soon. I only have 1 more to make now and I will be caught up for this month.

I have added glitter to a couple of rows in each of the circles and so this card really sparkles! But unfortunately it is hard to see in the photo.
Supplies:
Stamps: Dot Spot, Big Birthday Wishes and Inside Out Birthday all by PTI
Cardstock: Pumpkin pie and Whisper white by SU!
Ink: Jet black archival ink by Ranger, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Pretty in Pink by SU!
Other: Cuttlebug alphabet dies, dazzling diamonds.

JAI54 - A colour challenge

Firstly, my apologies for being so late with my JAI challenge post this week! I have been a day late and a dollar short all week this week. I am hoping that this will rectify itself now that it is Friday and we can get into a regular routine after the weekend.

Anyway, here is the gorgeous colour challenge that the girls at Just Add Ink have put up for this week.

And here is my card. I didn't have any regal rose card so had to make do with a little regal rose ink for my sentiment (and the glitter frosting on the top of the cake kind of matches too).

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Rose Red, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red, Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Regal Rose
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Other: Early Espresso satin ribbon, PTI die and impressions plate, sewing machine, SU! markers in chocolate chip and pretty in pink, pink glitter

WOYWW - 2 February 2011

Two weeks of WOYWW in a row ... there's something new for me! Anyway, just to prove that I do actually use my desk and it does get messy, here is a pic from this morning.

Haven't worked on anything yet so far today, this is just mess I haven't tidied up yet from a couple of cards I made earlier in the week ... oops! Just about to go grab some lunch and then I will get back to work. I have a couple of cards that have to go out this week, as well as some DT challenges to work on.
