More Poinsettias :)

Here is another card using the gorgeous Spellbinders Poinsettia die.  I have used the larger layer and the big leaves for this one, so it turned out to be a much larger card than the previous ones I posted.

Supplies:
Stamp: My Favorite Things
Die: Spellbinders. Punch: Carl. Fishtail flags die by MFT.
Other: Cardstock and Ink by Stampin' Up!, Kaiser Pearls.

Poinsettia Christmas Cards

Here are a couple of different coloured variations on a Christmas card I made using the beautiful Poinsettia die by Sizzix.

After cutting out the poinsettias I sprayed them with glitter spray to add a bit of sparkle to the cards.
The greetings are stamped and embossed in clear embossing powder.

Supplies:
Stamps: My Favorite Things
Die: Sizzix
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery.
Other: Kaiser Pearls, Fishtail Flags die by My Favorite Things, Leaf punch by Carl

Another Christmas Card

This time I have used the new Stampin' Up! Poinsettia stamp to create my card. I stamped and embossed it with clear polysparkle embossing powder, so it is very sparkly in real life :)  I then coloured it with Copic markers before cutting it out and attaching it to my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Other: Tag die by My Favorite Things, ribbon, Kaiser rhinestones.

Peace and Joy

Organising the Ikea Raskog trolley - Part 2

Now that I have had a chance to fill all of those fun bins I showed you in my last post HERE I thought I would share my final set up for now.

I am currently using my trolley as a Christmas station, since I will pretty much be working on Christmas cards for the next two months. And it is so handy to have it all close by! I usually do this each year but in the past have just used a basket or something similar, but this works much better.

I will explain how I have set it up in the following photos.  This first pic is just a complete photo.  Don't mind all of the little blue dots on the floor, they came out of a die last night and I really need to sweep them up!

Here is the top level. This has various Christmas stamps, embossing folders and some dies.  I have left room on the right side of the trolley to put all of the new Christmas goodies I just ordered from My Favorite Things :)  I have used the Godmorgon tray I showed you in my last post for this level.

In the middle section I have used two of the Krus tubs with the inserts removed. The left side has Christmas paper that is pre-cut to 6x6 with whole pads at the back, and the right tub has my clear mount Stampin' Up! Christmas sets.

In the bottom section I have kept the lids on and stacked some of the remaining tubs I bought. I think that four of the shorter tubs (on the left) would have been perfect but I just used what I had. I like that you can still see the labels when they are stacked too!  The left side holds Christmas embellishments and Cord (silver, gold and red on reels) and the bottom right holds and various Christmas ribbon. And as you can see the top one is still empty but I may put my dies in that one, not sure yet.

So that's it! Hope you found this post useful, thanks for stopping by :)

Just Add Ink Inspiration Challenge #186

Welcome back to another challenge over at Just Add Ink! This week we have an inspiration picture for you to work from, and I loved seeing how all of the other DT members gained ideas for their projects this week. This is the picture.

I have gone with the wreath for my card, and I'm getting started on my Christmas cards at the same time.  I have made two cards this week, both the same design but in different colours.

For the first one, I have gone for a turquoise and silver theme and embossed the silver paper with a cuttlebug embossing folder. The wreath is embossed in silver as well. This was such a quick and easy card to put together!

My second sample is in more traditional colours.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope that you will play along with us this week over at Just Add Ink!

Organising an Ikea Raskog trolley - Part 1

I have been chatting with some friends about different storage solutions for the Raskog trolley from Ikea.  Since the Antonius storage container has been discontinued (such a shame as it was the perfect fit!) I have been looking at other options. Below are a list of what I have found that will fit into the trolley.

1.  This is one large tray which I found in the bathroom section of Ikea called a 'Godmorgon' box with compartments. It has inserts that can be removed if you don't need them. Although the little divided section is great for kindy glitz, liquid pearls etc as you can see in the pic below.

Here are a few different variations of the Godmorgon box in the trolley.

With inserts

 Without inserts.

2.  These next ones are the KRUS range, also from Ikea. These tubs come in 4 different sizes, and they have lids as well which can be removed (which I have done for the purpose of the pics). But they can also be stackable which is handy! AND they have little removable dividers so you can use them with or without.

These first two pics are of the larger containers and two fit perfectly in the trolley.

These next two pics are of the narrowest containers and you can fit three in the trolley. I have left the dividers out of the one on the right so you can see the difference.

And this last pic is the same dimensions as the first Krus image only not as high. These would be great to store smaller items with the lids on and could be stacked to fit more in.

This last pic is showing my Copic markers which are just in some wire baskets from the discount store and some unmounted stamp sets stored in a Samla container from Ikea.

These last two images are from the Samla range. You can fit one of the larger ones or two of the smaller ones. I have just put some in that I am already using on my shelves so you can get an idea of the size.

I hope that some of these ideas have been useful! And I take no responsibility for the damage to your Credit Card if you feel the need to visit Ikea for a spot of shopping ;)

Craft room additions

I am always changing my craft room around and adding new things, and removing them if I find they're not working well for me.  And over the past couple of weeks I have made a couple of new additions to my craft room that give me a little more storage space that is easily accessible to me from my workspace.

The first was the addition of this 'hutch' to one side of my desk area.  This is a Besta shelving unit sold by Ikea, and I just omitted the base and backboard when I was putting it together to make it work for me as a hutch. I love how organised it is and how it fits perfectly on my desktop! I also picked up the white storage bins from Ikea while I was there.

The second addition was this gorgeous trolley. I have been looking at this since it came out and kept telling myself I didn't need it. But eventually it followed me home from Ikea on a recent visit. As my kids said, it was inevitable ;)

I am currently using the top part for my Copics, the middle section for all of my ribbons on reels (mostly SU!) and the bottom has a storage tub with lots of Christmas stamps and bits in it as I am starting to work a little on my Christmas cards now. I love that this slides under my desk (as I work at bench/standing height) and just rolls out when I need it.

Just Add Ink #185 - Colour Challenge

Hello friends!

Sorry I'm a bit late with my post this week ... I really have been running a day late ALL week, even to the point of missing an important pre-booked doctor's appointment on Wednesday because I was sure it was only Tuesday! Oops! This always happens to me when I'm out of my work routine, the kids are home on holidays and throw in the fact that Monday was a public holiday here, and my brain is really in a muddle!

Anyway, lets hope I can get back on track and stay there. And better late than never right?

This week over at Just Add Ink we have a gorgeous colour challenge for you which comes from DT member Delys Cram.  I just LOVE these colours together and know I will be using them again for sure.

And here is my card, using my very cute but under-utilised owl punch by Stampin' Up! This little girl winged her way over to the other side of the country to a special stampin' buddy this week, so I hope she likes her!

All supplies this week are from Stampin' Up!
