Altenew - Polychromatic

I'm back with another card for the Altenew Educator Certification Program, this time from the Polychromatic Class taught by Nina-Marie Trapani.

I decided to use the tips in Lesson 4 which shows you how to use close colours (or shades of the same colour) from the same colour family.

I decided to use the blue/teal colours to create this get well card for my mum who has recently been in hospital together with the new Tranquility Rose Simple Coloring Stencil Set.

I started by using a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock cut to 4.25"x8.5" (which would be cut down a little smaller later on) and I inked the three layers of the stencil to create a floral background. I started with the lightest ink of Mountain Mist, then went to Volcano Lake and finished with Lagoon for the top and darkest layer of the stencil. These are from the Sea Shore mini ink pad set.

I then cut the panel down by 1/2" off the side and the top and added a little more ink around the edges, as I found this helped it to 'pop' off the white base a little better.

I Inked up some more card stock in the Lagoon ink and die cut the shadow word hugs from the Hello & Hugs die set, and did the top layer of the word in white. I then stamped the "sending healing' from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set onto white card and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then inked that strip with the Lagoon ink also so that it would all match perfectly.

I layered the sentiments onto the panel with foam tape and then used more foam tape to attach the completed panel to the white top folding note card. Adding a few clear sequins completed the card.

I think this card design would look great in any colour combination!
