Digi Scrap anyone?

I have dabbled in a little digital scrapbooking before, but I have to be honest - I am not that good at it. My computer publishing skills are just not good, and besides if I started digi-scrapping how could I justify the thousands of dollars worth of stuff I have in my room! lol I think my dh would divorce me.

Having said that though, I do have a few digi kits loaded onto my computer and there are some great tutorials out there for anyone that wants to give it a try. I managed to throw together a couple of pages in not a lot of time thanks to the direction of my friend Pam.

So if you love the idea of scrapbooking but can't see yourself getting into the paper variety for one reason or another (funds, room, time) then I would recommend you try digital scrapbooking! I must admit if I didn't already work with paper products in such a big way I would probably be more inclined to jump in with both feet.

And where do you start I hear you ask? Well it just so happens that my talented friend Pam (mentioned above) has started selling her gorgeous digi kits and sketch kits online! You can check out her stuff here: DESIGNS BY PAM

And in the spirit of sharing, here are a couple of my (first, so be gentle!) digital pages :)

Winter illness sucks!

After my last post about the kiddies being sick of course then the inevitable happened - I got it! Madison was home until yesterday and after only working two days last week I was off yesterday afternoon and today with the same throat infection. Yuk!! On the positive side, after sleeping until 1.30pm I managed to do some stamping and colouring and made a couple of cards for challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers. I have only photographed one so far so will post the other one later in the week.
This card was for a colour challenge to use Wild Wasabi, Taken with Teal and Whisper White. Supplies: Ballooning Bear stamp by Penny Black, greeting stamp by Expressions. Card in Wasabi, Teal and White. PP is from the Bali Breeze set by Stampin' Up. Other accessories: Rectangle nestabilities, sewing machine, ribbon, white embossing powder.

Happy Friday

Well it has been a week of sick kiddies around here! After Claudia being home Mon, Tues and Wed, I sent her off to school yesterday only to get a call from the school to pick Madison up as she was sick. Claudia is on antibiotics for tonsilitis and Madison is displaying a lot of the same symptoms. She is home again today, so it has been a short work week for me too having only worked 2 days!
I can't complain as I did find some time to do a few cards last night and just thought I would share them here.

Supplies: Stamps by My Favorite Things, Paper by Kaiser, All card by Stampin'Up! in tempting turquoise, pretty in pink, whisper white, and basic black. Ribbon is also SU! I coloured the image using faber castel pencils and used gamsol (odourless mineral spirits) to blend. The background was done using the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing template and I matted the image using my new Nestabilities templates.

This card was created for a Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. All I changed from the original was the image and the papers.

Supplies: Stamps: My Favorite Things, cardstock, ribbon and paper by SU! in whisper white, chocolate chip and pretty in pink. Image was coloured using the same technique as above.

This last one was also a scraplift (or should that be a cardlift?) from a talented stamper named Frances Byrne (whose link I can't find right now!).

Supplies: Card, ribbon and ink from SU! in tempting turquoise, pretty in pink, basic black and whisper white. Paper by Prima, Stamped image is from My Favorite Things, cuttlebug embossed backgrounds again, and Gamsol and pencil technique for colouring.

Card Sets

Just sharing a couple of card sets that I made this week. I made a coordinated gift box for the 'Like it a Latte' set. The other set was a request from a friend who wanted six 'simple' white cards as a gift.

Catching Up

I just realised I didn't post last Friday's card for the Weekend Sketch Challenge (#51). I am eagerly awaiting for Beate to post this week's challenge which should be up some time tonight.

I also received some parcels this week, including some new small stamp sets from Inkadinkado. I forgot to take a pic but will share the cards when I have actually made something with them.

I also received these goodies from 2peasinabucket, just a few new things to play with including some doodlebug glitter, paper ribbon and some crushed velvet flocking as well as a great recipe style box which I think will turn into a card organiser with monthly dividers so I can keep track of birthdays throughout the year and put the cards that I make in there.

I also finally ordered some Nestabilities and they should arrive in the next week or so ... have been waiting 6 months to get my hands on these!! and also an order of the gorgeous new My Favourite Things stamps (think cupcakes and ice cream sundaes!) as well as a small Stampin' Up! order. So do you think I am stalking the postie much? LOL

And now I am off to do some more cards as I actually have orders for two sets of cards in coordinating boxes which will be given as birthday presents. I always feel stressed when actually making cards for other people and selling them .. you know what it's like, wondering whether they will be good enough and whether the recipients will like them! Oh well, I can only do my best and hope they are happy with the results.

Have a great weekend!

Glittery Wings

Don't you just love glitter? I do ... probably because I have two girlie girls who also love anything sparkly. So here is a card I did today using a glue pad with fine crystal glitter to stamp my butterflies. I totally lifted this card from one that I had seen at Splitcoast Stampers (I am just trying to find the exact link) and just changed it a bit. But I love how it turned out.

Supplies: Stamp sets are Priceless and Warmest Regards by SU; Card in close to cocoa, pretty in pink and whisper white. Glue Pad and glitter, Ink in Close to Cocoa and pretty in pink, Sugar coated pink brads were a gift from my friend Pam, Cuttlebug embossing folder and ribbon (pink ribbon is SU).
