What's the big deal?

Since I got these number plates I have lost count of how many people have commented on my age ... things like 'oh so you're 40 next year!' or 'it's all downhill from here' and the one I heard today was 'kind of hard to hide your age now isn't it'.

I must admit I debated for a long time what plates to get. I had 3 choices, either 'Jodene', JT2404 (my birthdate) or these. I figured the 1969 looked less random than the 2404 (yes I may be a little anal/OCD) but as I said to Gerard when he asked if I was concerned that everyone would know my age ... I have never been one to hide my age anyway, so why do I care? I am not the one with the Peter Pan syndrome around here ;)

Am I the only person I know who is NOT concerned about their age? Yes I am 40 next year ... bring it on!! I am not worried about it. I am looking forward to it ... to moving forward into the next phase of my life ... to see what the next decade will bring for me. Why should I be ashamed of it? Why do people comment with pity in their voice? All I say is don't lay your own insecurities on me! I have enough of my own, but my age isn't one of them. lol

Yes I am almost 40 ... lets start planning the party I say!!

Is it Friday yet???

That is seriously how I feel after such a crazy and busy weekend. Productive, but crazy! We got a lot of things done around here that we have been putting off for ages but it meant I didn't have much time to do any fun stuff. I finally stopped at about 9.30pm last night and managed two quick cards.

I am just having so much fun with this cute Bee Trio stamp from Stampendous, so here are another couple of cards I made.

Supplies: Paper by scrapworks, card in choc chip, soft sky and riding hood red. Choc chip ribbon and filigree brad. I also used the nestabilities template and paper piercer and edge distresser on the edges of the blue cardstock.

Supplies: Paper by Basic Grey, card in teale and kiwi kiss, cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder for background and nestabilities template for the image. Very quick and easy!

New (fun) stuff

Don't you just love new fun stuff! I sure do :) I had a few parcels arrive for me this week with lots of new product from Stampin' Up!, House Mouse, Stampendous and more. As well as some little surprises that really brightened my week, and some new (old) music to listen to while I work. Isn't it great having friends that are so thoughtful and know just what you will love :)

I got stamps, papers, brads, ribbons, inks and then some. This week I am also expecting some more Stampin' Up! card and ink as well as some of the fun new nestabilities shapes.

Can't wait to find more time to get creative now!

WSC64 and then some

I have finally had time to play after a couple of weeks of not much crafting at all. And what better way to start than with Beate's weekend sketch!

Supplies: Stampin'Up cardstock in kiwi kiss, riding hood red, and Bella Rose Designer Paper. Cute and Curly stamp set stamped in riding hood red and punched with the labels punch.
Added some stitching and a few gemstones.

Supplies: Bee Trio Stamp by Stampendous, Bella Rose DP, cardstock in riding hood red, whisper white and kiwi kiss. Misc: gemstones by Kaiser, nestabilities, cuttelbug embossing template, Stampin' Up! chit chat rubons and some ribbon.

Supplies: Upsy Daisy stamp set by Stampin' Up!, card in whisper white and chocolate chip, Paper in Pink Pirouette, ink in choc chip and pink pirouette, choc chip satin ribbon, Pink Pirouette DP.

And while I"m here I thought I would share some pics from my mobile phone that I managed to download (who said I was technologically challenged??). I loved this, because it was taken on the day that we had to have our beloved kitty Benson put down, so while it's not the clearest shot, it is the last one of us together. And I still miss him every day.

This next photo was taken by my colleague on her new blackberry and she texted it to me ... I love the quality of her pics! I think I need a Blackberry now :) either that or an iPhone. Maybe I should put my order in to Santa.
This photo of Madison was taken in January at the butterfly enclosure at Sydney Wildlife Park.

Another random headshot of me looking stupidly into my phone ;)

The girls on Crazy Hair Day at school ... the colour is SO OFF in this one!

Just a random shot of my beautiful girls :)
