WSC32 (plus others)

I did a heap of cards this weekend to send out on Monday. There are lots of birthdays coming up plus I wanted to send out some thankyou cards for my birthday gifts and there was also a new baby for one of the teachers at the girls' school.

This card is number 32 for Beate's Weekend Sketches . I am still playing catch up with these!
Supplies: Card: basic black, whisper white and Rose Red Designer Paper. Ink: Basic Black and image is coloured with watercolours and an aqua brush. Stamped image is from Penny Black and the greeting is from Stampin' Up!

Supplies: Cuttlebug and paisley embossing folder for the background. All products are Stampin' Up! Colours are basic black, whisper white and bashful blue.

I totally copied this card design from one I had seen at Splitcoast Stampers because I just loved it! These are some thankyou cards for my birthday gifts.

Supplies: All products are Stampin' Up! Stamp sets are Fun and Fast Notes and the All in a row stamp fro the stitching. Coloured again with watercolours.

WSC45 and other stuff

Once again I have managed to do the Weekly Weekend Sketch on time! So I just thought I'd share it with you.
Card Supplies:
Paper: Crate Paper, Cardstock Stampin'Up in Marigold Morning, Close to Cocoa and Whisper White. Stamps: All in a row (stitching stamp) Stampin'Up and the Bee is from Dawnstar Stamping Studio. Ink: Chocolate Chip. Other: Glitter and watercolours.
In other news I celebrated a birthday on Thursday and am now officially in the LAST YEAR OF MY 30's!!! but you know what?? I say bring it on! 39 is such an odd age. Not really 30ish and not quite 40 yet. So I really am looking forward to the big one next year ... and what a party we are gonna have!

I took the day off work to spend with the girls and Madison made me the yummiest Rasberry Swirl cake with rasberry icing which was just divine! And I was spoilt with lots of pressies which included a mixture of stamping/scrapping stuff, lots of gift vouchers, some new slippers, a gorgeous scarf and some earrings.

Only one more day of school holidays and the kids go back on Monday. Gerard is away again Sunday night just for a few days and in a couple of weeks will go back overseas for 2-3 more weeks. I don't think he has even bothered to put his suitcase away this time because he hasn't been home long enough.

Well I am off to do some more stamping as I have some thankyou cards I want to make. So whatever you have planned, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

WSC44

I actually managed to do the weekend sketch on the weekend it was issued - woohoo!

Other than that I have not managed to do much at all this weekend. Just boring house stuff, like grocery shopping, cleaning, washing, running the kids around.

Friday we did all go tenpin bowling which was fun! Gerard won of course, but I did come a (not so) close second :)

Back to work tomorrow but only a short 3 day week so gotta be thankful for that.

Have a great week!

WSC = Weekend Sketch Challenge

Talented stamper Beate runs a weekly sketch challenge and every Saturday a new card sketch is added. So I have decided that since I wanted to make a heap of cards for the 'Cards for Soldiers' program over at 123-Scrap! I would start with these awesome sketches.

I printed out all of the sketches to date (43 of them in total) and have started working my way back from the latest one. And since I have nothing exciting of note to put on my blog anyway, I figured I would just post them here. Hope you like them :) And if you are interested in playing along be sure to visit Beate's site!

Oops ... have to run and have dinner. Will be back to post the cards soon!

Just checkin' in

... for the benefit of the two of you that read my blog :) You know who you are!

School holidays have started so I had the first two days off with the girls. We went to the park yesterday and had a bbq lunch, and the girls got to feed the ducks, and pat the kangaroos and just have a good run around for a couple of hours.

Today was just a lot of housework for me and a quick trip to the library for the girls to grab some books for the holidays. Tomorrow morning Gerard gets home and it's back to work for me. Since he has been gone over 2 weeks I think the girls are really looking forward to having him around for the next few days.

I did a big clean up of my craft room (again!) and so was inspired to get the new stamps out for a play. I also ordered a Scor-Pal for my birthday and although I can't have it until next week I did have a quick play (gotta make sure it works okay don't I?) and it is AWESOME!! I can't believe it took me so long to get one of these. If you are a regular card maker, you should really check it out. Well worth the money.

For now, it's off to fold the mountains of clothes in my room before having an early night. Have a great week!

Oh, and here is the card I made before dinner tonight. Just a quick one but I like how it turned out. It was inspired by a card I saw over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Four is my favourite number

So I just knew I had to do this little 'tag' when I saw it on Rach's blog.

A) Four places that I go to over and over: Work, the supermarket, the school, the post office
B) Four people who e-mail me (regularly ): Kathleen, Gerard, Eddie & Tanya, Pam
C) Four of my favorite places to eat: Sushi, Macs Deli, Blue Monkey Restaurant, at home
D) Four places I would rather be right now: Albany, on a beach somewhere, on vacation ANYWHERE! the visiting the U.S and Canada (to meet my net friends)
E) Four people I think will respond: your guess is as good as mine! since only 3 people read my blog though I don't like my chances. lol
F) Four TV shows I watch over and over: CSI (the original), Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Ghost Whisperer

If you want to play along, just post your answers on your blog and make sure you let me know so I can check it out!

Spelling Test

Your Spelling is Perfect
You got 10/10 correct.

Your spelling is excellent. You also have a great memory and eye for detail.

Just some cards

Well not much exciting to report I'm afraid! Gerard is back in PNG until mid-late April so it's just the girls and I again for a while. And only another week of school and then the kids are holidays again (I am sure it has only been a few weeks since they started school!)
Life in my small town is a lot lonelier these days since my best friend moved away in February. I miss being able to just drop in there for a cuppa or have her knock on my door whenever she wanted. I don't have anyone else I can do that with and I guess I never realised how lucky I was. I sure miss her!
Some happy news though, my cousin Tammy who I haven't seen for years is moving to the same city that we are moving to at the end of the year. I am really looking forward to catching up with her and she is married now with a baby so that is very exciting! And I will get to see her soon when we head down that way for a visit. Can't wait :)
But for now, I don't have much else to share so I will just leave you with a few cards I have made this week. Just excuse the blurry images as the camera doesn't like shooting without a flash at night.
