Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 102

Here is a card I whipped up this afternoon for my BFF's 15 year old son, using this week's sketch by Karen Giron. I really wish I had some of the extreme silhouette images for this card, because I think they would finish it off perfectly. Better put those on my next order huh!
Stamps: Extreme elements and Riveting (retired)
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Dusty Durango, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: crumb cake, night of navy, tempting turquoise, dusty durango
Other: Circle punch, star embossing folder

Enjoy the Ride - Happy Birthday

Here is a card I made for my beautiful niece who will be 23 this week.
After I had finished I thought the car needed a little something so I stamped a layer of versamark ink over the melon mambo ink and then covered it in a mix of dazzling diamonds and heat and stick powder before heating it with a heatgun. Now it's very sparkly! I also did the same with the Happy Birthday greeting although it's a bit harder to tell in the photo.
Stamps: Enjoy the Ride by Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: melon mambo, pumpkin pie, whisper white (all SU!) Patterned paper by Kaiser
Ink: Melon Mambo, Basic Black (SU!)
Other: Stitching, clear rhinestones, dazzling diamonds, nestabilities, PTI car die

JAI53 - An Inspiration Challenge

This week over at Just Add Ink, we have an inspiration challenge for you. And here is the gorgeous picture that I am sure will inspire you.
And I feel I need to apologise for my card this week! I read the challenge wrong and made a card using 'bursts of colour' rather than using this gorgeous picture as my inspiration piece!! Such a bummer too, because Sunflowers are my favourite flowers of all :) So stay tuned for a new card which will be more representative of this week's challenge. In the meantime, here is my original card ... and hey, it does have flowers on it so I guess that's something right?

I should also point out that the little black dots on my card are actually from the black glitter I used in the centres of the flowers. But I had a hard time picking up the effect in the photo.
Stamps: Awash with Flowers (SU!) and signature greetings (PTI)
Cardstock: melon mambo, bermuda bay, whisper white
Ink: Ranger archival ink, Basic grey
Other: Prismacolour pencils, black glitter, rhinestones, pink ribbon

WOYWW - 26 January 2011

Well, it has been a LONG time since my last 'What's on your workdesk Wedneday' photo. So I figured I would try and make more time to play along this year, and so when my phone reminder went off that it was indeed WOYWW, I just picked up my camera and took this week's photo.

And let me just point out, that my desk is really pretty tidy at the moment (compared to normal) because I had a BIG clean up yesterday so I could do a video blog tour of my room to post. However I am having tremendous trouble just getting it to download and so hopefully you will get to see it - one day! lol

In the meantime, this is what my desk looks like right now. I am just about to start colouring some digi images that I downloaded and printed off last night.
If you would like to play along or just have a little look at some other craft spaces, then pop over here to the Julia's WOYWW Blog.

JAI52 Sketch Challenge

Has another week really flown by already? It won't be long now and the girls will be back at school. I have loved these slow late starts of the holidays, it will be a shame to see them come to an end. But it will be nice to have some time to myself again.

The good thing about the end of another week, means that it's time for another challenge over at Just Add Ink. And this week it is a sketch challenge, and here is the sketch.
And here is my card. You will notice I have kept this one very simple, not a stamp in sight! Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper white, pink pirouette, basic black
Other: Universal embossing folder, SU! gemstones, SU! rubons, Tim Holtz border die, Ribbon was salvaged from a Christmas gift :)

Another fairy card

I just love these cute little fairies! I coloured this image at the same time as the last one, but have only just got around to putting it on a card. I still haven't decided on where to place a sentiment so to me it still looks like it's missing something.
Stamps: Pergemano Fairy Stamps
Cardstock: Certainly Celery and Whisper White (SU!)
Paper: Kaiser patterned paper
Other: SU! Stampin' Pastels, Martha Stewart border punch, pearl accents by Kaiser, prismacolour pencils, Dazzling Diamonds, stitching, nestabilities

A fairy birthday card

Just thought I'd share a quick birthday card I made this week. This is the first card I have made this year that wasn't for a DT project. Hopefully I will get time today to make some more.

I received 5 new stamps sets from SU! this week and have a nice big PTI order on it's way. So if that doesn't motivate me I don't know what will! lol
Stamps: Fairy by clear stamps, greeting by SU!
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, whisper white, melon mambo
Paper: Kaiser
Other: Pumpkin pie ribbon, nestabilities, stitching, prisma pencils, dazzling diamonds glitter

JAI#51 - again!

Here is another quick (and I mean like 5 minutes quick!) card that I whipped up tonight for the monochrome challenge over at Just Add Ink. If you haven't seen my first project, just scroll down to my earlier post.
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Patterned paper by Bo Bunny
Stamps: Extreme elements and Full of Life (both SU!)
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Other: SU! gemstones

Just Add Ink #51 - A monochromatic challenge!

This week's challenge over at Just Add Ink is a fun one! The theme is to make your project using a monochromatic colour scheme (using only one colour or shades of the same colour).
I am not sure that my project this week is exactly true to the meaning since if I just made it all red, it would be a plain red card! lol
However I started with the DSP as the inspiration for this weeks project and went with that. I made this little chocolate box and matching card as a birthday gift for a friend. There was no template for the box as I just traced one I had received from my secret sister last year, (Sandra Azzopardi) and it was made to fit these particular chocolates (from Aldi if anyone is wondering). I picked them up when I was in Sydney recently.

Anyway, enough chatter! Here is my project.
And here it is all boxed up and ready to be sent on it's way :)
Stamps: Full of Life (SU!)
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla. Love Letters DSP.
Other: Corner rounder, label punch and ribbon from SU! Flower die from Papertrey Ink.

Sharing some of my RAKS

I just thought I would share with you some of the beautiful cards that I received throughout December. A couple are from girls at Just Add Ink, while the rest are from the Stampin' Up! in Oz Yahoo group that I am a part of.
I feel terrible, because I never got many Christmas cards out at all before going on holidays. Which is terrible considering I ordered almost $200 worth of new Christmas stamps this year! So instead I thought I may try and get out some New Years cards ;)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at the gorgeous cards I was lucky enough to receive this year.

Kicking the new year off with a Just Add Ink challenge - JAI50

Happy New Year my blogging friends! I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years break with your loved ones. We just returned home this week after a quick trip to the Gold Coast and Sydney. Had a great time, but it's always so nice to come home. I will share some pics as I get a chance to sort through them!

In the meantime, I have a card to share with you. It is the first card I have made since early December and I think it shows .... seems I may have left my mojo back on the East coast! I hope to get some more done this week and get the stamping hands back in action.

Just Add Ink have been making some changes to their blog so you can look forward to some exciting new challenges this year! Here is my first one for 2011, and it's a colour challenge.

And here is my card.

Stamps: Watercolour Trio and Teeny Tiny Sentiments, both by Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: so saffron, elegant eggplant, whisper white
Ink: Pear pizzazz, riding hood red, elegant eggplant
Other: silver brads, corner punch by SU!, nestabilities die, certainly celery ribbon (didn't have the satin in the pear so I cheated!), red pearl accents on the flowers are from Kaiser.
