Bizzy Becs Design Team Card - Saturated Canary Wendy

Hello there! It's been a while since I last popped in, but it's been a crazy few weeks here with the lead up to Christmas, hubby's return home and my mother in law's arrival.  And I don't know where this year has gone but it has certainly whizzed right by me that's for sure!

So here is what will most likely be one of my last cards of the year. This is for Bizzy Bec's Design Team and I have chosen the gorgeous Saturated Canary - Wendy image from Bizzy Becs Online Store. And you can currently get her for 20% off!!  And as an added bonus, the gorgeous Carta Bella papers I used called Paris Girl are also on sale ... for a whopping 33% off! I just love these papers, the colours are so soft and I just adore anything to do with Paris.

The embellishment on the ribbon came from one of Bizzy Bec's gorgeous card kits, and there are now a whole bunch of new ones that were added this month! Be sure to check them out, they are gorgeous and make it so easy to put your cards together because everything matches perfectly.

I chose to leave a sentiment off this card for now, because I don't know what I will use it for but I figured I could easily add one when I need to.

Supplies:
Image: Saturated Canary
Cardstock: All papers from Carta Bella's Paris Girl 6x6 pad
Other: Embellishment from Bizzy Becs card kit, stitching, ribbon, copic markers

I hope that you had a fantastic Christmas with your loved ones, and I wish all of my blog readers a very Happy New Year. May 2013 bring you only wonderful things.

Just Add Ink Challenge #147 - Just Add Balloons

Well just for a change from all of those ornament pictures, I thought I would share my card for this week's challenge over at Just Add Ink. This week the challenge is to add balloons. And if you're looking for some inspiration be sure to check out the JAI blog, because the girls have some great projects up this week.

For my card I pulled out a really old stamp (well over 10 years old!) from my stash. I used a combination of copics and paper piecing on the image.

A couple more ornaments

I have been having so much fun making these ornaments that I have created a couple more.  I think the Bermuda Bay coloured one is my new fave :)

Christmas Ornaments

I have had fun making some Christmas ornaments this weekend. Some simple ones using rosettes and a couple of the fancier ones that were featured on the Stampin' Up! Christmas Catalogue. I did one in the traditional colours at a workshop and then came home and made one in pink/purple for the little girls who live next door as that is their favourite colours.  Here are a few photos.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!

Just Add Ink #145 - Sketch Challenge

Hello ... remember me?  I know it's been a while. Life has taken me on a bit of a detour, as I have been away down on the south coast for a work retreat and then on to spend a couple of days with my bestie :)

But now I'm back and trying to get back into some sort of routine! Although I probably picked the wrong time of year to do that, since the lead up to Christmas is always a little crazy.

I did find time to make a card using this great sketch for this week's challenge over at Just Add Ink.  We would love it if you would play along, this is the sketch.

And here is my card. I love that this sketch lends itself to a clean and simple design but can also be 'dressed up' if you want too. And it's a great way to use up those little strips of leftover patterned paper.

Supplies:
Paper by My Minds Eye.
Stamps: Bauble by Stampin' Up!, Sentiment by Papertrey Ink
Other: Cotton thread, stitching, gold embossing powder.

Simple Christmas Cards

Well it's that time of year again (hard to believe I know!) when I need to start thinking about Christmas cards. I always leave it to the last minute and despite spending a fortune every year on new Christmas stamps, papers etc I just never seem to make enough cards to justify it.

Anyway, last night I whipped out a bunch of very quick and simple designs so I just thought I would share them with you.

The papers are from the small SU! Christmas pad and the stamps and die are from My Favorite Things. And they were all done using the same colours, however some have photographed much brighter. The colours were Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.

Happy stamping!

Just Add Ink #141 - Colour Challenge

Hi everyone!

It's time for another challenge over at Just Add Ink and this week it's a beautiful colour combination.

But I am sad to say that I have royally stuffed up my entry this week! It has just one of those weeks that I wish I could permanently erase from my memory if you know what I mean!

It went a little something like this:
- A death and subsequent funeral
- Some bad news about the status of a friends illness (breast cancer), the end is near and it is just devastating that a young family will lose it's mother and wife.
- A scared call from my daughter after their school was put in lockdown because a large gang with knives and other weapons entered the school and was threatening teachers and students.
- On the way home from aforementioned funeral, someone threw a large rock or a brick at our car while we were travelling at 100km/h on the freeway narrowly missing the window where my daughter was sitting! Luckily we are all okay but my car will need significant repairs and will be off the road while that's done.
- All this while suffering a 4 day migraine, worse than any I've ever had before!

But even after all of that, I know I am so lucky and should be so thankful that we are all healthy and safe because others are going through a much harder time right now, and my heart is just breaking for them. So I guess it's true (and sad) that no matter what you are going through, there is always someone worse off than you are.

Anyway, enough of my drama! Here is my card for this week. And only after finishing it, did it dawn on me that I used white instead of very vanilla!  So stay tuned as I hope to have another card to share with you soon using the correct colours! In the meantime, I thought I would share this one anyway.

Happy stamping!

Other: Button and ribbon by SU!, image coloured with Copic markers, glitter, stitching

Christmas Cards

Yesterday was World Card Making Day, and I hope that you all found time to do some fun crafty stuff.  We were pretty busy but I did manage to make some quick and easy Christmas Cards before heading out to christen our friend's new pizza oven.
I think I HAVE to get one of these outdoor pizza ovens, they cooked the pizza's so quickly and they tasted amazing! And after we were done making pizza's and while it was still hot they put a lamb roast in and cooked it up. Yep, have to get one of these.  Here is a pic I took of Madison and their son Jackson about to make their pizza's.

Anyway onto the cards!

I got the idea for the first card from THIS one which I saw on Pinterest. I just decided to add some layers and more colour to some of mine. The tree is a digital stamp from Hero Arts which I bought online from Two Peas in a Bucket and I added the sentiment in Word. These were honestly so quick to put together!

This next one is a total case from a card that I had seen done by Debbie Olson last Christmas. I had saved the idea but never got around to getting it done before. I omitted the stitching on mine just to save on time (so I could make a few) and went with more traditional xmas colours.  I also tried them with different coloured ribbons. Personally I think I prefer the more muted tones of the kraft seam binding rather than the red. And it's a great way to use up all of that patterned paper I seem to be hoarding.

And now I think I will head back to the craft cave and see if I can't find my own mojo and get some more cards done.
