Blue Butterfly Birthday

Hello!  I hope you are all having a great weekend so far.

I have my mum visiting from Sydney so I have had to pack up my craft room for now so no stamping time for me for the next week or so.  I did manage to get this card done earlier in the week for the Bizzy Bec's Store Blog so pop over there for more information on where you can find this cute Blue Butterfly Digi Image.

And now I am off to make little tags for the party favours for my daughter Madison's 16th birthday party tomorrow. We are celebrating with a high tea at the rotating restaurant overlooking Perth so we are all really looking forward to that! I will be sure to share photos once it's all over of course :)

Happy stamping!

Butterfly Birthday

Hello :)

Today I have a card to show you featuring a really cool marbling technique using shaving cream.  I had heard about this technique before but had never tried it, however after visiting the very talented Karen Thomas' blog and seeing the card she created I just had to give it a go! So thanks for inspiring me Karen.

I used my Tim Holtz distress re-inkers to add the colour to my shaving cream and was surprised at how easy this actually was to do! So easy in fact I got a little carried away and made lots of pretty backgrounds for future use. I just love the creamy swirly look that this technique gives you.

Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: So Saffron, Early Espresso, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Chocolate chip ink, various distress inks from Tim Holtz
Other: Die and impression plate by PTI, button.

Dynamic Duo's #12 - Black Tie and Poppy Parade

Hi bloggers!

Here is a card I made for this week's challenge over at Dynamic Duo's.  The colour theme is black & red with the option of a neutral and although my first instinct was to go with white/vanilla as my neutral I mixed it up and used Kraft. Not sure that I love it, but it is growing on me.

Stamps: Reason to Smile by SU!, sentiment by Hero Arts.
Cardstock/Ink: Basic black, poppy parade, kraft
Other: Die by PTI, black pearls, stitching

Party Invitations

I just made these birthday invites for my daughters party. She is having a high tea to celebrate her 16th birthday so I thought the cute little tea cup from PTI would be perfect.  They have a magnet on the back so that they can just be stuck on the fridge.

Stamps: PTI Tea for Two additions.
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Very Vanilla.  DSP: Spice Cake by SU!
Other: Stitching, tea cup die by PTI

It's time for another challenge over at Just Add Ink, and this week it's a colour challenge with a twist; YOU get to choose what the third colour will be.

I made this card for a friend and chose to keep it very clean and simple. I know she has already received it, so I hope she liked it!

Stamps: Typewriter from SU!, Sentiment from PTI
Cardstock: Black, white, bermuda bay
Other: PTI impressions die, stitching, bermuda bay ink.

Just Us Girls #145 - Technique Challenge

Here is a card I made for this week's challenge over at Just Us Girls. This week the challenge was to use the window technique which believe it or not I don't think I have ever used before. I added some glossy accents to the centre of the flowers and some glitter to the petals just for a bit of sparkle :)

Digi image: source unknown. Stamped Sentiment by Hero Arts.
Cardstock: Black, white, DSP by Cosmo Cricket
Other: Copic Markers, stitching, banner die by PTI, glitter, glossy accents

Less Is More Week 76 - One Layer Challenge

This week over at the Less Is More blog, the challenge is 'Three'. That means three of anything, for example 3 stamps, the number 3, three colours ... you get the idea. And it is also a one layer challenge which I must admit is a little hard for me since I love to layer just a little bit ;)

Anyway I have used three images from the gorgeous Cattitude stamp set from There She Goes Clear Stamps.

Stamps: There She Goes Clear Stamps
Cardstock: White X-Press it card stock
Ink: Memento Black
Other: Copic Markers, PTI impressions plate

Happy Monday

Hello blogging friends!  I have a couple of cards to share that I made on the weekend.

For this first one I used a gorgeous new image from Saturated Canary called Librarian. I just love Krista's designs, they are always so fun to colour.

Other: Nestabilities, Copic markers, stitching, ribbon by SU!, die by My Favorite Things.

A Busy Stamping Bee

I managed to get so much done in just a few hours of stamping last night and made 8 cards!  So be sure to scroll down if you want to check the rest of them out. It was great to have the time to play along in a few challenges.

It has been so long since I managed to get so much done in such a short space of time, in fact I think it's more than I've done in the last couple of months combined! Let's just hope it stays that way for a while so I can be a little bit more productive.

Here are a couple of random cards I made, and by random I mean not for any challenge or DT requirement :)

This first one is using a cute new Penny Black Owl Stamp I got from my local store last week. Isn't it sweet?

Check out his glittery feathers :)

Stamps: Penny Blank, sentiment by Hero Arts.  Cardstock: Early Espresso, Whisper White, and old SU! DSP. Ink: early Espresso. Other: Copic Markers, Stitching, Die by Papertrey Ink, Kaiswer pearls.

Stamps: There She Goes Clear Stamps. Cardstock: Kraft, white, DSP by My Minds Eye. Other: Ribbon by SU!, Nestabilities, Copic Markers, stitching.

Retro Sketches #19

I have to admit, this card is a bit of a fail! I got so excited with the sewing machine I forgot to add the twine and only realised I had forgotten after it was all stitched together.  Oops!  But I thought I would share it anyway :)

This is the sketch from the Retro Sketches Blog.

And here is my card. I have flipped the sketch upside down this week.

Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Naturals Ivory, DSP by My Minds Eye 'Dolled Up'
Other: Buttons by SU!, Stitching, bakers string. Dies by PTI.

Dynamic Duo's #10

Now here is a colour combo I haven't used for a while! Although it is an old favourite of mine so it was great to use it again.  Here is the card I made for this week's Dynamic Duo Colour Challenge.

Stamps: Stampin' Up! Fabulous Florets, Sentiment from Hero Arts.
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive
Other: Turning a new leaf and banner dies by Papertrey Ink, stitching

iSpy Sketches #23 x 3!

I had such fun with this week's sketch over at iSpy Sketches that I managed to make 3 cards!

Here is my first card:

Stamps: Papertrey Ink.  Ink: Pool Party, More Mustard. Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla. DSP: My Minds Eye

And here are the other two cards I made. These ones are a little more grungy and masculine.

Stamps: Papertrey Ink. Cardstock: Basic Grey, Natural Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler.  Ink: Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy.

Freshly Made Sketches #42

I finally found some time to craft on the weekend and managed to get a few challenge cards done. The first one I played with was this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Stamps: My Favourite Things
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, DSP by My Minds Eye (Howdy Doody).
Other: Stitching, Copic Markers

A quick card share

I made this card on Friday and totally forgot to take a pic and share it.  It is a fun folding card that I saw on Julie Davison's blog (you can find a video tutorial HERE).

I have used some of my old favourite retired SU! papers for this card, which was super quick and easy to make. In fact all supplies for this card were from SU!

Just Add Ink #125 - Just Add Winter

Well it won't be too hard to find inspiration for this week's challenge, since it's been so cold here the past few weeks!  Some days it is so hard to warm up so I just spend most of the day in my dressing gown when I can ... any excuse right?

Here is my card.  Be sure to pop over and see all of the other design team projects on the blog.

Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, DSP by Kaiser (I think?)
Other: Martha Stewart snowflake punches, die by PTI, pearls by Kaiser.
