Here is another card from the online card class, this time featuring a faux water colouring technique shown by Jennifer McGuire.
I didn't have any Inktense watercolours so just used my regular Derwent watercolour pencils, so the colour wasn't as vivid as I would have liked. I added the hearts with a pen and went over them with liquid pearls in Onyx.
Stamp: Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: Watercolour paper
Other: Derwent Watercolour pencils, Ranger liquid pearls in Onyx
For the first time ever, I am doing an online card class through Onlinecardclasses.com and after only two days of lessons I have already picked up some great little tips and tried a couple of new techniques.
I thought I would share the three cards I did for my 'homework' for Day 1. I am still playing catch up as the classes come online quite late at night here in Australia due to the time difference and I have had to work during the day .. this work thing is really is cramping my play time!
For my first card I have combined the sketch from Julie Ebersole with the die cut masking technique shown by Jennifer McGuire.
Stamps: Stampin' Up!
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink in crushed olive.
Other: Washi tape, Framelits die by Stampin' Up!, linen impressions plate by PTI
My second card was done using spray mists and masking as shown by Kristina Werner. I never had any masks so I used some laced cardstock that I have had in my stash for a long time. I used a blue glimmer mist to spray my mask, and it looks a lot more shimmery than it does in the photo.
Stamps: Papertrey Ink.
Cardstock: White Quill CS, Marina Mist CS by SU!
Ink: Black pigment ink
Other: Nestabilities circle die, PTI double ended banners die, blue glimmer mist, clear embossing powder.
And my final card was based on a sketch from the sample by Amber Kemp-Gerstel. Again using a masking technique. I started by stamping the branch from an old SU! stamp set, and then cut a circle from cardstock and used that as a mask to add the circles to my tree.
Stamps: Stamping Up! (branch), Greeting by PTI, circles by PTI.
Ink: Chocolate chip, purely pomegranate and old olive by SU!
Hi there! I hope that you have had a lovely Australia Day long weekend. The weather here was perfect so we had a bit of a party on Australia Day which carried on to the next day when the last guests left at 3pm. I am only just getting caught up with my housework now and hope to spend at least a little time this afternoon in my craft room.
I do know that my friends and family in Queensland have not been so lucky, with severe storms and flooding in many areas. I hope that those of you living in those areas are all safe and sound!
It's challenge day again over at Just Add Ink and this week we have our first Sketch Challenge for 2013. We hope you will play along with us, just pop back to the blog and update your project using the link below.
Here is the sketch.
And here is my card. I have used the blackboard technique to create the focal panel on my card today.
Cardstock & DSP: Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Sentiment by American Crafts, other patterned stamp by PTI.
Other: White ribbon, stitching, white embossing powder, versamark ink pad.
Here is a card I made just for the fun of it. I have had this rainbow die by MFT for a while now but just had not got around to using it. And of course I had to cover it in pretty glitter, so it is very sparkly in real life :)
This challenge blog 'Sieze The Birthday' is pretty new, and I just stumbled across it while looking around this week and thought I would play along. You get to use the same sketch twice, once on a feminine card and once on a masculine card. I only found it in time to make the masculine card this time.
It's been a while since I played along in some sketch challenge but last night I managed to get on a bit of a roll and made 6 cards! This was one of them, for this weeks sketch over at Clean & Simple Stamping.
This is the sketch.
And here is my card.
DSP: Doodlebug Designs
Stamps: Hero Arts
Other: Dies: Papertrey Ink (Banner) and flower by My Favorite Things, stitching, pearls.

"MEMORY BOX DIE"
donated from Bizzy Becs Online Store......
Bizzy Bec's has Memory Box Dies in stock as well as there is a Pre-Order for NEW Memory Box Dies arriving soon...
And here is my card. I have used one of the gorgeous card kits from Bizzy Becs store, as the colours looked very summery and 'Hawaiian' to me which prompted me to use the Aloha greeting. The digi image is also from Bec's store and was coloured using Copic markers.
