Seize The Birthday Challenge ... with Chevrons!

It's time for a new Birthday Challenge over at Seize The Birthday and once again we have a fun toppings option for you.

This week's topping is something that is very trendy right now and that is

Since I have used my cute little Chevron dies quite a bit lately I thought I would mix it up and used some fun new Chevron paper that I bought recently.

I also combined my challenge with a cute Sketch that was used in one of the recent challenges over at Seize The Sketch.  This is the one I used.

And here is my card, using some gorgeous new goodies I just received from My Favorite Things.

Seize The Birthday Challenge ... with colouring!

It's challenge time again over at Seize The Birthday and this week we also have a fun Topping option for you!

Now we all know how I love a little colouring, so this week's Topping over at the Seize The Birthday Challenge, was right up my alley.  That's right, the extra challenge is to do a little (or a lot!) of colouring on your project. But remember, the Topping is optional and you don't have to use it.

I have coloured this gorgeous digital image using Copic Markers. I have had this image on my computer for quite a few years and can't remember where it came from, but it is one of my favourites to colour.

Stamps: Digi Image (source unknown), sentiment from Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Card by SU!.
Other: Punches from Stampin' Up!, Copic Markers

Hugs & Kisses

Hello friends!

I have managed to spend just a couple of hours in my craft room so that I can catch up on some upcoming Design Team projects before I head to Sydney on Friday.

And while I was at it I made this cute card, which I cased from Pinterest.  I received some of the gorgeous new goodies from My Favorite Things and just couldn't wait to play with them. I only wish I had more time to play before I leave but sadly it's not looking like that will happen.

A few more holiday snaps ...

After Siem Reap we flew to Phnom Penh where my SIL and her family live. But we only stayed a day and a half before heading to the coast to spend Christmas at a beautiful seaside town called Kep. We hired the whole Villa for our group and it was just wonderful. All we did was lay around the pool, spend time together and just chill out.

This is how we got around .. in Tuk Tuk's. So fun but the traffic in Phnom Penh is crazy!! Road rules, what are they?

Probably the worst part of our trip was our visit to one of the many sites of the killing fields in Cambodia.  This was the gorgeous monument they built, and I tried not to take photos too close up as it is filled with the skulls and bones of many of the bodies that have been unearthed. I was surprised at the amount of people inside taking photo's though. I just could not bring myself to do that, it seemed disrespectful.

The visit to the killing fields is one I am glad I did, but at the same time it just tore me apart emotionally. I was a bit of a mess after hearing the stories and seeing the mass graves so close up. And the fact that it all happened in my lifetime is unbelievable to me.

While we were in PP, we also did a cruise down the river at sunset and saw lots of little villages along the way. It really was an eye opening experience for the girls to see the poverty that so many people live in. They had never witnessed anything like that before.

From Phnom Penh we took a road trip to Kep, on the coast.  This is our Villa.

It was the first time I have ever had to overtake an elephant on a highway!

This was our table for Christmas lunch.

We had a wonderful time and the Cambodian people are the sweetest most generous people you could hope to meet. We can't wait to go back!

Some holiday snaps

I can't believe it's already been a week since we got back from our holiday. The two weeks we were gone went so quickly and I wish we could have stayed in Cambodia longer, but I think we will definitely be going back!

We started our trip by stopping in Singapore for a couple of days. We spent one whole day at Universal Studio's and had a fantastic time.

We went on the Revenge of the Mummy rollercoaster and nailed our photo (below)  :)

After Singapore we flew to Siem Reap where we met up with my Sister In Law and her three and a half year old daughter. It was the first time we had met her as she was adopted in Cambodia two years ago. It was also the first time she had met any of her cousins so she was pretty excited too.

We stayed in Siem Reap for a few days and went to visit the temples which were just stunning.

I love the reflection in this next one.

This is the entrance to the temple that was used in the film Tomb Raider. The tree's are overgrowing everything!

Part II to follow ....
