Seize The Birthday Challenge - Anything Goes!

Hello and welcome to another great challenge over at Seize the Birthday!
This week we don't have a topping option for you, which
means you just need to keep it a birthday theme!

And if you haven't already seen the gorgeous cards by the very talented STB DT girls, be sure to pop over and check them out!

For my card this week I used my Copic markers to colour this gorgeous image from Taylored Expressions, which I picked up from The Scrapbook Store.
I then cut it using the MFT rounded rectangle dies and layered it into some paper from Doodlebug Designs (see links below).

Stamp: Taylored Expressions Sunflower Bouquet, Sentiment by Penny Black
Other: Copic Markers, ribbon, crystal effects, clear wink of stella glitter pen

Just Add Ink #247 - Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the first Just Add Ink challenge of the new year. And as we have done in previous years, we are kicking of 2015 with a fun blog hop for you and we hope you will play along!

We have a theme and a sketch for you to try, so get your creative caps on and see what you can come up with, we would love to see it!

And here is my card.

I have added plenty of dimension and layers to my project this week. I started by using the linen impression plate from Papertrey Ink on my white card (which was cut using the pierced die from the My Favorite Things blueprints 21 set) and also on my pink tag. I then used embossing paste and one of the new heart stencils from My Favorite Things on the white card and sprinkled with polysparkle embossing powder. Once the paste had dried I heat set it which gave me a lovely glossy and slightly sparkly finish (hard to see in the photos).
I then used double sided mounting tape to raise the tags and the hearts as well. I cut the hearts and tags with die-namics from My Favorite Things. The sentiment is also one from their latest release.

Next up on the blog hop is Di Barnes, so be sure to pop over to her blog HERE and check out her gorgeous project. Or you can just click on the image below.

Seize The Birthday - Party Time!

Happy  New Year!!

As you read this I am somewhere around the Ha Long Bay region in Vietnam. Here is a pic to give you a visual. We are in Vietnam for almost three weeks, but are spending New Years doing an overnight boat cruise on the bay followed by a night in a traditional Vietnamese village.

But, that is not the reason I am here. I just wanted to share with you the first challenge of 2015 over at Seize The Birthday

Our "Toppings" option this time is...

Very appropriate for the new year don't you think?

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

If your not a toppings kind of person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

The choice is yours!

And here is my card. I have to confess, I have had this stamp for well over 12 years and it probably hasn't seen ink in almost 10! But when I saw the theme for this challenge it came to mind immediately. And what says party more than confetti and glitter right? So I decided to make it a shaker card.

Stamp: Sugar Mice by PSX (1999)
Dies: My Favorite Things
Other: sequins, glitter, Copic markers.
