Admit One - for The Scrapbook Store

I have two cards to share over on The Scrapbook Store blog today, or rather one card in two slightly different variations, which feature the ‘Admit One’ stamp set from Lawn Fawn.Ferris Wheel double
I started by stamping the Ferris Wheel stamp twice, onto white cardstock and also onto kraft cardstock and then cut them out using the coordinating dies. I coloured the kraft image using Prismacolour Pencils and the White image using Copic Markers.
I used the same layout for both cards, and created the background panels by repeatedly stamping the ticket stamp in versamark ink on the red and kraft pieces. I then cut the panels out using the stitched die from My Favorite Things.ferris wheel closeup
I then cut a double stitched rectangle die from My Favorite Things and stamped the sentiments at the bottom and used foam tape to attach the ferris wheels. I then mounted the completed panels onto various coordinating pieces of cardstock.
I also added some glossy accents to the ferris wheel baskets on the kraft image.Ferris Wheel2Ferris Wheel1

Just Add Ink #277 - Colour Challenge

Hello friends!

It's been a crazy couple of weeks around here (sickness, interstate visitors and the usual craziness) and I have not been in my craft room for over two weeks! I finally managed to get in there this week though and make a card for the new colour challenge over at Just Add Ink.

Unfortunately I didn't have any Calypso Coral in my stash so I have substituted with some Groovy Guava. I really love the fresh look of this colour combo, perfect for the start of spring (which is only a few days away!)

Dies: Scribble roses by My Favorite Things
Stamps: Polynesian Paradise by My Favorite Things
Ink: Versamark
Other: PTI Linen Impression plate, white embossing powder

Have a purrrfect day - for The Scrapbook Store

This week I have a simple card to share over at The Scrapbook Store, but one with some fun techniques featuring distress inks and perfect pearl powder.Penny Black FeLine
I started with a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock and stamped the sentiment in black Versafine ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then heavily applied three different colours of distress inks, blending them together as much as I could. While the ink was still wet I applied a dusting of Perfect Pearl powder and buffed it off with a microfibre cloth which left a shiny metallic finish. I have seen this technique around a lot lately and really love it!
I decided to cut the Penny Black FeLine die from black glitter cardstock and removed the outer frame from the die. I then attached it to the card above the sentiment and layered the completed piece onto some black cardstock using foam tape.
This is such a simple and fun card to make, that looks just beautiful in person with all of that shine and sparkle!Penny Black FeLine closeup
Distress Ink colours used:
Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron

This week over at Just Add Ink, Kim has a fun sketch for us to play with! And be sure to pop over and check out all of the gorgeous projects from the DT. We hope you will play along with us!

I decided to flip the sketch for my card this week as I really wanted to use the balloon die, and I couldn't very well have it hanging upside down now could I? ;)

Clowning Around - for The Scrapbook Store

My card over at The Scrapbook Store this week features the adorable little ‘Pure Innocence’ clown from My Favorite Things’ last release. It also has a matching die to go with it, and both are available now in the store. This is a great little stamp that works for either boys or girls card, which makes it very versatile! I chose to stick with primary colours for my card and I think this card works for both boys and girls.Clowning Around
I started by taking a piece of Ranger Watercolour Paper and using some blue distress inks to watercolour the background. I didn’t measure it out, I just wanted to leave a bit of a white border around the colour.
While that was drying, I die cut the clown from X-Press It Copic cardstock and coloured him/her using Copics (a full colour list is below). I also die cut some balloons from the new MFT Dienamics ‘Birthday Balloons’ set and coloured those in coordinating colours. I added some white spots to the shirt using a white pen.
I cut the balloon strings from American Craft glitter paper and gave the balloons a generous spray of Shimmer Sparkle spritz (which is almost impossible to see in the photos, but gives a lovely sparkle in person).
I cut the MFT Dienamics ‘Instaframe’ to frame my clown and added a sentiment. The ‘Happy’ is from the ‘Clowning Around’ stamp set and the large birthday die is from the new ‘Brushstroke Birthday Greetings’, which was also cut from the American Craft glitter paper. I stamped the Happy onto grey cardstock and heat embossed it with Ranger embossing powder.Clowning around closeup
I then used double sided tape to put all of the layers onto the watercoloured background and attached it all to the grey card base. I chose grey for the card base and accents as I felt black may be a bit too overwhelming.
