Crazy Bird Birthday for The Scrapbook Store

Since I last shared a card using the cute Crazy Birds stamps from Stampers Anonymous over on The Scrapbook Store blog, they have released some accessories, sentiments and coordinating dies! So I thought I would play around with some of these for this week’s card.

Water coloured Magnolias

Well here is something I haven't done for a while ... make and post a card just for the fun of it :)

Things have been pretty crazy around here lately with the end of the school year, exams etc going on. But I received these gorgeous Altenew Magnolia's a few days ago and just had to sit down and play with them. So I got out a few different water colour sets and some different papers and just coloured them in. Last night I finally got to cut them out and make them into cards.

Seize The Birthday Challenge - Vellum or Acetate

There is another fun challenge over at Seize The Birthday this week.
Thanks to everyone who played along with us last time,
we sure enjoyed looking through the gallery at all
the variations of Birthday greetings!

Our "Toppings" option this time around is to use...

"Vellum or Acetate"

somewhere on your card and or project.

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just

stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

The choice is yours!

For my card I chose to use Vellum for the 'glass' in my window frame and also for the sentiment.

I created the background using the MFT English Brick Wall stencil with embossing paste which I coloured with distress ink.

Stencil: My Favorite Things
Dies: Cats from Impression Obsession, Window frame and curtain from My Favorite Things
Other: Texture Paste, Versafine black ink, clear embossing powder, distress ink, vellum

Just Add Ink #289 - Just Add Music

I was so excited about this week's challenge over at Just Add Ink, given that I live in a very musical household (sadly that excludes me, I have no music ability whatsoever!).

I have used an adorable Pure Innocence girl from My Favorite Things along with a music background stamp. I heat embossed the music background in white powder and then sponged some inks over the top of it.

Stamps and Dies: My Favorite Things
Other: Copic markers, white embossing powder, glitter paper, Memento black ink.

Sending Love ... and sharing handmade kindness

Have you seen the new challenge over on Jennifer McGuire's blog?  She is encouraging us to share handmade kindness this month, and I think it is such a wonderful idea! I don't send out nearly as many cards as I should, aside from birthday cards.

Week one focuses on sending kindness to family and friends and I have created these three cards which are on their way to both family and friends.

My cards feature some new Stampendous daisy stamps which I picked up last week over at The Scrapbook Store.  I have stamped and embossed them in white powder onto kraft card stock and coloured them with Prismacolour pencils. I then just added the sentiment and some paint splatters and some glossy accents to the centre of the flowers and mounted them onto a white card base.

Masking these flowers was so easy because the stamp set comes with pre-cut masks and stencils for you to use. I love that!

I also added some coordinating flowers to the envelopes just to make them more matchy/matchy :)

Seize The Birthday Challenge - Anything Goes!

This week over at Seize The Birthday it's challenge and this week it's an ...

"Anything Goes" Challenge

(With no Topping!)

Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!

With Halloween just last week, I decided to use some of my halloween themed stamps. Since they don't get much ink otherwise (we don't really celebrate it in Australia!).

I mean seriously, how cute is this little witch?

Ink: MFT Black Hybrid Ink, Distress inks (for the pumpkins & background), Versamark
Other: Copic Markers, white embossing powder, Vellum.

Just Add Ink #287 - Inspiration Challenge

Hello folks!  I hope you are well, especially considering it is FRIDAY! :) Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend.

If you're heading to the craft room you may want to play along with our fun inspiration challenge over at Just Add Ink.  This is the image we are using:

I have gone with the autumn leaves theme, since the sunflower stamp I had on order didn't arrive in time :(

I created the leaves using Brusho watercolour powders.  I just made a large sheet of water coloured card stock and then cut all of the leaves from the one sheet. I love that the Brusho powders give you such dramatic differences.

Stamps: My Favorite Things
Other: Brusho Watercolour powders, twine, button.

Remember You Are Loved - for The Scrapbook Store

This week’s card over on The Scrapbook Store Blog is quite simple in that it is just one focal image, but it is such a gorgeous image from Indigo Blu that I felt it didn’t need any further embellishments.
For a full list of the colours I used for this card, pop over to The Scrapbook Store Blog.
